Description
Between 1982 and 1984 MOL / Hungary installed 10.625 pieces of KLINGER Piston Valves in their FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracking) plant. The majority of the valves (>95%) have been installed in the steam and condensate systems.
These installations have sucessfully verified, that a KLINGER Piston Valve has an average life time of around 18 to 20 years. Hence, the life time of a KLINGER Piston Valve is 6-8 times longer than conventional solutions (e.g. globe valve).
This example illustrates that the total cost of ownership is significantly lower than using globe valves.
Additionally, KLINGER piston valves can be maintained without disassemble from the pipe to replace worn parts and therefore dramatically reduce maintanance costs. This is not the case with alternative solutions (e.g. globe valve).
